What is SERVICE?

What is service? We all say we give great service in fire and flood damage cleanup, but what does this look like?

There are small things we can see that will show as professional, in how customers are treated. When someone has flood damage to their residential or commercial property, how prepared were the responders? Was the restoration company prepared ahead of time so they could respond quickly? Were those responding prepared to react quickly to get to the site and be effective immediately to start the water damage cleanup?

In this preparedness plan for the restoration company, training in the flood damage response through accredited bodies (ie IICRC) is helpful. Training on how to react to the immediate needs of a client whether that is processing the physical part of a water damage claim or taking the time to listen to someone as they experience a disruption in their work or home space.

Service is an intangible for restoration companies that can only be judged and graded by the end user. One of the main reasons we stay in fire and flood restoration is because we have a part in each of us that just wants to help people. If that core is found in each employee the level of service will continue to exceed the expectations of the end users and every restoration will be a success.
